Atelier Baroque is proud to host an exciting three day workshop “Paris en Plein Air” with American painter, Turner Vinson. The workshop will begin with a day in the Atelier Baroque studio, followed by two days on-location in Pairs. Through demonstrations and short compact lectures, Turner will explain how he approaches painting on location in a complex and often overwhelming urban setting.

Artist Biography:

Turner Vinson graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and immediately following graduation began a two year apprenticeship with an impressionist oil painter in Boise, Idaho. Turner developed a deep love and enthusiasm for working on location and has now made paintings all across the US. Turner’s goal as an artist is simple: to represent the world that is around him. He often finds inspiration in his own backyard, in a family member’s gaze, or in the neighborhood he lives in. An important factor in Turner’s painting process is working directly from life. The time invested in each location provides a deep connection, understanding, and experience that he strives to communicate in each painting. In May 2018, Turner and his family sold their house and possessions and hit the road full time to paint the great American landscape. A five week painting trip to the French countryside is bringing him across the water and allowing for a wonderful workshop opportunity.
